CULTURE - COMMUNITY - CONSERVATION
The Museum is comprised of a gift shop, permanent and traveling exhibits. In addition to exhibits the Museum hosts two large fun-raisers each year, Surftoberfest and the Texas Oyster Festival. Surftoberfest is The Texas Surf Museum’s spin on Oktoberfest and is celebrated the first Saturday in October. Attendees can expect to find a family friendly, beer-filled festival, rich in German & Texas Surf culture.
Our second large event is the Texas Oyster Festival and Cornhole Tournament held in April with an emphasis on Aqua Mariculture and the practice of Oyster Recycling as a form of conservation. Throughout the year we strive to offer supplemental programming by hosting environmental discussion forums, book signing events, community organization gatherings and surf swap sales.
